Practical week out for pupils
Pupils at Spalding Grammar School took a week out from their usual lessons to work on a host of practical skills and activities.
Students at the school were given advice on safe driving from the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership and also gained tips about managing their money from the Personal Finance Education Group.
During the week a group of year nine students also went over to the Gleed Girls' Technology College and Gleed Boys' School to try their hand at food hygiene and healthy eating lessons.
The events were all part of a Citizenship Week and as part of that many pupils took part in team-building and problem-solving exercises, such as researching and building paper bridges which had to be made to withstand weights.
Assistant headteacher Cathy Lee said: "It was a very busy week with lots of practical activities going on and the whole idea was to get them outside their boxes and working with different groups of students.
"It also helps to improve teacher-student relationships."
