Pirates go in search of treasure

SPALDING's Fenscape was besieged by pirates who turned up to take part in a new treasure hunt around the festival gardens.

Childminder Joanne Randall took nine young pirates to take part in Fenscape’s summer treasure hunt and the children enjoyed a themed day which included a trip on the water taxi.

The children dressed up and were a treasure map each to follow to help them find the hidden picture clues on the marked spots around the gardens.

“Pieces of eight” – or chocolate coins – were collected upon completion and entry into the weekly prize draw to win fantastic free tickets to local attractions, that include Fantasy Island, Fun Farm, Twycross Zoo, Conkers and many more were also up for grabs.

The centre is offering a range of activities during the summer holiday, including a wildlife drawing competition, Fenscape fun finder, tile and glass painting, wooden spoon, puppet making, fridge magnet making and back to school crafts.
