New bail date for driver

A driver arrested after a young cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run in Spalding has been rebailed.

The 41-year-old, from Sleaford, was arrested in September on suspicion on causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident after 27-year-old Tim Osborn was found in a ditch beside Bourne Road in Pode Hole.

His mum Lynne and family found Tim’s lifeless body at about midnight on September 14 after he failed to return home from his job at Morrison’s supermarket in Pinchbeck.

It is believed he was hit by a silver Transit-type van just after 9pm that evening, just yards from the family home further along Bourne Road.

The driver answered bail yesterday and a Lincolnshire Police spokesman confirmed he has now been rebailed to February 13 while investigations into the accident continue.

Speaking recently Tim’s dad Stephen said he was desperate to see justice for his son.
