National media clamouring for Royal wedding gossip

PINCHBECK florist turned Royals reporter Josie Williams (68) got a worldwide scoop last week after she and friend Wendy Ablett were invited into a royal wedding on their caravan holiday in Norfolk.

Josie's story and picture of Prince William and Kate Middleton at the wedding of Princess Di's niece on May 30 became hot property after they appeared first in the Lincolnshire Free Press and this website.

Next day Josie's quotes were in the Daily Mail diary under the headline: "At last! Kate gets a royal wedding (as William's cousin ties the knot)".

And media offers to buy Josie's snap of the prince and his girlfriend in the church have since poured in from Hello! magazine and other publications from Europe and beyond.

Josie said: "Isn't it nice to have a happy story like this hitting the headlines for once!

"Lots of friends phoned up and the staff from my building society in Spalding rang to say they'd put fresh flowers on the counter and were practising deep curtseys after seeing the story in the Free Press.

"I went to do the silk flowers at Baytree and someone yelled Stop! and curtseyed to me. It's been a lot of fun really."

Josie and Wendy, from Spalding, left their husbands with the caravans at Snettisham Farm Park on Saturday May 30 after meeting Princess Di's sister Lady Jane Fellowes in Snettisham's pretty parish church that morning.

They were thrilled to take snapshots of guests including Earl Spencer arriving at the wedding of Lady Jane's daughter Laura Fellowes to City worker Nick Pettman.

They couldn't believe their luck when they were beckoned into the church, ushered to a seat and handed an order of service booklet which Josie has kept. Josie cheekily snapped Prince William and Kate from their pew.

Josie's comment: "Wendy and I would've looked a bit smarter if we'd known - we were both wearing cropped trousers and T-shirts that day!"
