A former member of the Army Air Corps is braving his first ever tandem skydive to raise cash for Help for Heroes.

Michael Bulmer (23), from Chapelgate, Sutterton, used to work on Apache helicopters and has flown in Chinook and Lynx helicopters, but his planned descent from 10,000ft in August or September is completely new.

He said: “I have always wanted to do a skydive but I have just been too scared.”

The thought of raising cash for ex-servicemen and women has spurred him on and he’s got nearly £1,000 in the bag already towards his £5,000 target.

Michael’s skydive will be at The Drop Zone, Norwich. You can sponsor him on www.bmycharity.com/mike2014skydive
