Man killed in A16 crash
A cyclist has been killed in an accident on the A16 at Spalding.
Emergency services were called at around 6.30pm last night to the A16, at the back of Springfields Outlet Shopping and Festival Gardens, where a green Citroen Xantia had been in collision with a pedal cycle.
The cyclist, a 55-year-old Spalding man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's believed that he was wearing dark clothing and that his bike was not lit.
Three women and a man from the Citroen were taken to Boston's Pilgrim Hospital shocked but uninjured.
The road was reopened about 10.25pm.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area around that time and either saw the cyclist or the Citroen before the crash or saw the collision itself to contact them on 01522 558855.
This brings the number of people killed on Lincolnshire's roads so far this year to 44 compared with a full year total in 2008 of 51 and a total of 40 at the same time last year.
