Man dies after industrial accident in Spalding

BREAKING NEWS THURSDAY 3.15PM: A 71-year-old man has died after becoming trapped in machinery at a farm in Spalding.

It is thought to have happened at Elm Gable, Cowbit Road, where the man became trapped at about 1.40pm yesterday.

Fire crews from Spalding and Grantham, along with paramedics and police, came to the scene but the man was later pronounced dead.

Detectives from Spalding CID and Health and Safety Executive officials have begun an investigation into the accident and a report will be prepared for south Lincolnshire coroner Professor Robert Forrest in due course.
