James designs winning logo

A pupil at Surfleet Seas End Primary School picked up tokens towards new books after creating the winning logo for the village's parish plan.

James Scott (8) received the 5 voucher after using symbols, including the church and the River Glen, in his design.

His idea was chosen by Norman Rossiter, of The Studio in Station Road.

Parish plan chairman Coun Mary Hurst said: "The parish plan is all about involving the community and people of all ages so it is really good to have an eight-year-old design the logo which will go on the front of the plan when it is put together."
