House gutted by fire in Spalding

Arsonists are believed to have started a fire that gutted a house in Spalding.

Local firefighters were joined by crews from Holbeach, Donington and Boston at the scene in Queens Road following a call at 12.35pm yesterday.

The staircase, two front bedrooms and landing of the two-storey semi was gutted and the rest of the house suffered severe smoke damage.

One person suffering burns to the left hand was treated by paramedics and taken by ambulance to Boston Pilgrim Hospital.
