A lorry which ploughed into a house and van in Pinchbeck left a 42-year-old man needing treatment in hospital.

The crash happened outside a house in Church Street where a Renault HGV went through a garden wall before it collided with a small van and the side of the house at about 11.40am on Tuesday.

A man and young child inside the house were forced to run for cover but escaped injury while the lorry driver was taken to Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed for almost four hours while work to recover the lorry went on but a Lincolnshire Police spokesman said that the crash had left no “substantial structural damage” to the house.
