Help Naomi (19) fulfill her model ambition
A GEDNEY Hill teenager needs your votes in her bid to bag a dream modelling role.
Naomi Chambers (19), of Hillgate, is appealing for support as part of the Grid Girls competition - a national contest to find Miss Foxhill Motorcross 2010.
Naomi entered last year and narrowly missed out when finishing 11th in the public vote - agonisingly close to a top ten winners spot.
She said: "I made the top 100 but was then 11th and needed to be in the top 10 to go further.
"I was pretty gutted but there are usually thousands of people that enter so I suppose it was good to be 11th."
This year the competition will be run differently with two girls a month selected to feature in the 2011 calendar.
Naomi works as a teaching assistant in Wisbech, helping pupils who have behavioural and emotional difficulties.
She says working with children is her vocation - but is keen to pursue modelling as a hobby and at 5ft 3in has found herself unable to land a place on the catwalk.
However, this opportunity would be the ideal combination of her passion for modelling and motors.
She said: "I really enjoy my job but I would like this to be a hobby. I am quite into cars and bikes so I really want to get into this."
The 2010 calendar drew interest from lads mags Zoo, Nuts and Loaded and an overall winner - chosen by Foxhill Motorcross, Global Calendars and the Kerri Parker Academy - will feature on the front.
The calendar girls will also be featured by Loaded magazine online and get the chance to act as Grid Girls at the British Superbike Championships - holding brollies over riders and handing out the trophies.
Each will also get their own private photo shoot.
Naomi added: "It's a really tough competition this year - a lot of people seem to have gone for it.
"I just need as many people to vote as possible."
