This year’s Pumpkin Parade will be taking place in Spalding on Friday, October 3 and traders in The Crescent are delighted as this year, for the first time, the area will be incorporated into the parade route.
Road closures during the parade are expected to be the same as previous years with a 6pm enforced road closure.
This year, the parade will concentrate on a wildlife, harvest and changing seasons theme, with window dressing at businesses on the route expected to feature the autumn theme and colours incorporating pumpkins and orange balloons.
It is also hoped that children from local schools and groups will be able to take part in the parade, as usual, and following an absence of the fun fair at the parade last year, it is hoped that there will be one at this year’s parade instead.
The decision to include the Crescent on the parade route means that businesses such as Tulip Radio, Sue Ryder, Bookmark, Aspire and even the Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian will be able to get involved.
David Sanderson said: “This is a great opportunity to get so many people who may not have been to the Crescent before into our shopping area to promote our businesses.
“We need the support of all of the traders to create a meaningful impact.
“Deadlines are short and expectations are high so it’s all hands to the pump to make plans for the best pumpkin parade ever.”
