The rare sight of a funnel cloud, or violently rotating column of air, was seen in parts of South Holland on Wednesday.

Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian reader Vivien Garside took this picture from her home in Beccelm Drive, Crowland, of what some people thought was a tornado in skies above the town.

Vivien said: “There was one, then two, then a third (funnel cloud) developing as the first in sight was disappearing.

“In all, we witness four of them and it was an amazing sight to behold.”
