A former chief executive of South Holland District Council is to make a temporary comeback to the role.

Terry Huggins, who left his £124,000-a-year role in January 2013, started work at the council yesterday in a “consultative role” and will continue until new chief executive Anna Graves joins South Holland on April 21.

Mr Huggins, who will oversee both South Holland and Breckland District Councils, takes over from interim chief executive Geoff Rivers whose six-month stint ended on Monday.

No details have been given as to Mr Huggins’s salary, but papers presented at a council meeting last Wednesday revealed that he was involved in the interview process for the new chief executive held in February.
