Easter Sports Tour fun for young and old alike
Children and adults felt the benefits of an active fortnight as part of the Easter Sports Tour.
Youngsters and over-55s across South Holland tried their hands at a host of sports, including archery, athletics, scuba diving, basketball and football.
Children with disabilities also tested their sporting prowess with a selection of fun activities at Spalding's Castle Sports Complex.
The tour, sponsored by Broadgate Homes, is an initiative from South Holland District Council to try and get people of all capabilities to engage in different sporting activities.
Sports development officer Dan Matson said: "It went superbly well and all the sessions were well received and well attended.
"I have had some really positive feedback from parents.
"The coaches tell me that they have been amazed by the sort of attendances they managed to get."
Last week Age Concern also teamed up with the tour to offer an exercise class in Holbeach St Johns.
Mr Matson said activities, such as line dancing and health walks, had proved popular among adults even though it had been more difficult to market to them than schoolchildren
He said: "It has gone really well.
"Now we are looking at ways to raise the profile even further for the summer.
"Hopefully word of mouth will spread and we can look at what networks to use to send out the booklets so that we can reach everyone."
