There was no finals weekend hangover for Long Sutton as they closed on a Spalding and District Billiards League double.
The long-term leaders require just four points from their final two games to tie up the title after winning 5-2 at Consti D... just four days after winning the Billiards Shield. Sean Swinburn (O20) and Adam Barwell (O10) delivered their wins, with the former making a 38 break.
Second-placed Crowland B finally lost after 11 wins on the bounce, with Consti A seeing them of 5-2. Robert Adams (R40) and Peter Tingle (R100) did the damage for Consti, who stay fourth.
Elsewhere, Mick Johnson’s (o160) 49 helped inspire Consti B to a 5-2 win at Holbeach B.
Pyramid A and Holbeach C were the big winners of the week, after thrashing Gosberton and Holbeach A 7-0 respectively.
An unfinished 24 from John Clapton (R90) was the highlight for Pyramid, while Hugh Pinner (O170) made a 41 in defeat for Holbeach A.
