Ice and fog have caused problems for rush hour motorists in Spalding with at least one crash due to the tricky weather conditions.

A lorry driver has been taken to hospital after his vehicle overturned and ended up in a ditch off the A17 in Sutterton.

The lorry was carrying coal when the accident happened near the Sutterton Roundabout just before 8.20am and the driver was taken to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, to be checked over.

Police have closed the road in both directions while the lorry is being recovered.

Meanwhile, a woman is being treated by paramedics after she was hit by a car on Holbeach Road, Spalding, shortly before 9am.

The latest accident comes a month after another pedestrian, also a woman aged 60, suffered a head injury and fractures when she was hit by a car on Holbeach Road just two days before Christmas.

Finally, a vehicle crashed into a garden wall when the driver lost control on an icy road in Holbeach.

It happened at about 6.20am on Foxes Lowe Road but the driver was uninjured.
