Children's fund almost £3,000

Fundraisers dig deep to help boost fund total for disadvantaged children.

THE Lincolnshire Free Press Children's Fund has received another boost thanks to local fundraisers.

Suzanne Kinane-Waltham, of Killenaule Hair Studio, Pinchbeck, organised a raffle in aid of the fund, raising 190.72.

The lucky winners were Tess and Paul William, of West Pinchbeck, who received a 150 haircare hamper which included a travel hairdryer.

A money tree at St Laurence's Church, Surfleet, raised 50.75 for the fund.

Johnston Press, the company which owns the Lincolnshire Free Press, has donated 250 to the fund.

Following the Lincolnshire Free Press Christmas raffle, Pat Fripp, of Holbeach, has donated his prize back to the charity.

It is four tickets, worth a total of 96, to see basketball legends the Harlem Globetrotters during their Nothing Like It 2007 world tour at Birmingham's NIA on Friday, May 18, at 7.30pm.

We are inviting people to send in sealed bids for the tickets and the highest bid will win.

Please send your bids to the address below, marking the envelope Globetrotters Tickets, by Tuesday, February 13.

The Lincolnshire Free Press has opened the children's fund to help disadvantaged youngsters and those who need help with other things, such as sports equipment or musical instruments.

It will be open to anyone under the age of 18 who lives within our coverage area.

The fund total now stands at more than 2,900 and when it reaches 5,000 we will invite people to apply to the board of trustees for grants and every application will be considered.

Please do whatever you can to help – whether it is a simple donation or organising a fund-raising event.

Cheques can be made payable to Megan's Appeal and all donations should be either care of the Lincolnshire Free Press, Priory House, The Crescent, Spalding, PE11 1AB, or paid directly into Barclays Bank, sort code 20-80-78, account number 60972789.
