Children in Need - your events

PUDSEY fever hit the district last week as young and old rallied together to do their bit for Children in Need.

Hundreds of people joined together for weird and wacky fundraisers in aid of the BBC's national campaign, which raises money to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

Last year's event raised a fantastic 38million nationally.

On Friday students at Long Sutton's Peele Community College held a non-uniform day raising 602. Some of the GCSE art students painted a giant cheque to present to the charity.

Tiny tots and their carers at Spalding's Puddleducks Day Nursery dressed up and painted their faces to do their bit for the cause.

Children at Holbeach Bank Primary School manned stalls, and played games during the day as well as filling in a giant Pudsey bear layout with their loose change.

Sutton St James pre-schoolers also enjoyed fancy dress fun in aid of Pudsey.

Spalding's Gleed Boys' School did its bit by holding various fundraisers including a sponsored silence, non-uniform day and games fair.

Springfields Outlet Shopping centre staff got in on the act by dressing up as Pudsey Bear and a fruit salad for the all important fundraiser.

Drivers at Linco Components, Pinchbeck, dressed up on Friday and the company also held a raffle for the charity.

Children at Morton Primary School wore non-uniform and enjoyed delicious treats including Children in Need cakes.

Morton Post Office staff did their bit too by holding themed Children in Need fundraisers and dressed up for the day.

Spalding restaurant Frankie and Benny's got in the act with a host of fundraisers including custard pies in the stocks for some of its staff.

Spalding Parish Church of England Day School pupils donned their pyjamas for a giant slumber party to raise money.
