Boy punched and robbed in Market Deeping churchyard

A TEENAGE boy was punched and robbed in a church yard in Market Deeping on Sunday.

Police say the 16-year-old had been walking with a friend when they were approached at about 12.30am at St Guthlac's Church in Church Street.

One of the offenders asked the victim for a light but was ignored as the boy felt intimidated. He was then punched in the face and head.

His mobile phone, keys and iPod were taken.

Four people, a 15-year-old and 16-year-old boy, and two 18-year-olds, all from the Deepings, were arrested on suspicion of robbery a short time later.

They were questioned and released on police bail pending further enquiries until August 13.
