A woman (60) from Spalding suffered a head inhury after a collision between her and a car just two days before Christmas.

The collision happened on Holbeach Road at its junction with Queens Road where a Fiat Punto collided with the woman just after 5.30pm last Monday.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, where she is still recovering.

The road was closed for several hours and Insp Gareth Boxall of Lincolnshire Police said: “The accident was a serious one and the woman was quite shaken up at the scene.”

Meanwhile, three people were hurt after a two-car collision on the A17 in Holbeach also on Monday.

A Nissan Almera and an Audi Q7 collided just before 5.30pm and the road was blocked in both directions at its junction with Penny Hill Road.

The three people involved suffered minor injuries.
