86-year-old hit by car in Long Sutton

AN EIGHTY-six-year-old woman has been hit by a car as she walked along a pavement in Long Sutton.

The woman, who is from the town, has been left with serious injuries to her right leg and head following the collision, which took place at about 10am yesterday (Tuesday).

Trafalgar Square, where the incident took place, was closed off while emergency services attended the scene.

The woman is being treated in intensive care at Boston's Pilgrim Hospital.

The driver of the red Vauxhall Astra, is not believed to be injured.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the car before the collision.
