MORE than 70 people attended a big party at Spalding Golf Club to say farewell to Johnson Community Hospital medical secretary Susan Hensmanwright.

Susan organised the party herself to celebrate and to thank work colleagues and friends for their support and friendship over 40 years both at work and in her personal life.

Susan started work in September 1971 as a temporary telephonist/receptionist at the old Johnson Hospital in Priory Road. She accepted a job in the medical records department and remained there for 40 years, moving to the community hospital in 2009. Among those attending were consultants and staff from Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital and retired town GP Dr Michael Townsend, who wished Susan a long and happy retirement on behalf of everyone.
