It’s an ongoing job transforming the whole of Donington’s Flinders Park into a beauty spot to wow the In Bloom judges, and a start has been made.
The Donington In Bloom team spent money awarded from the Bicker Wind Farm Trust getting overgrown trees and scrub on the perimeter at the back of the park trimmed and cleared, leaving a blank canvas in the area to build on.
Donington in Bloom chairperson Liz Walker said: “When the judges came last year it was a dreadful mess.
“It already looks so much better cleared. Now we need to do a bit more clearing to open up a view through to the new wildflower meadow and the roses we’ve planted.”
