A 71-YEAR-OLD Pinchbeck woman has shown it’s never too late to learn after signing up for swimming lessons following her husband’s death.
Doreen Snushall was unable to swim a stroke when she signed up for classes at Bourne Leisure Centre in January, but after only a few months and expert help by the centre’s instructors, she can now swim 25 metres.
She said: “I used to watch my husband swim so effortlessly and he received so much enjoyment from it.
“I am just so sorry we couldn’t enjoy swimming together.”
Paul Watkins, business manager at Bourne Leisure Centre, said: “Doreen is such an inspiration to us all and we really enjoy having her around at the centre.”
