This year’s Christmas tree for Spalding town centre has been specially selected by a South Holland councillor.

Once again Baytree Garden Centre has kindly donate a tree, which has been growing in a field near Weston.

Last week Coun Jack McLean, chairman of the Spalding Town Forum, was invited by Baytree managing director Reinhard Biehler to pick a tree.

Mr Biehler gave Coun McLean a guided walk through the sites and offered advice on what to look for in a good tree.

Coun McLean said: “For years, the Baytree Garden Centre has supported the town with their donated trees but concerns were raised over a shortage of larger trees.

“Nonetheless, they have continued again for another year and we are hugely grateful for their continued support.

“Baytree is well known for the Christmas experience it offers. I look forward to sharing that experience with family and friends throughout the season both in the town centre and at Baytree.”

Coun Jack Tyrrell added that he was grateful for Baytree’s support of Christmas decorations in Long Sutton in recent years.
