INTERACTIVE speed signs have been installed at both ends of the A151 through Whaplode as part of improved safety measures.
The signs are among the final items being put in place through Whaplode and Moulton to promote traffic calming following a ten-year fight by road safety campaigners.
Earlier this year, Lincolnshire County Council lowered speed limits and installed central islands along the road.
Coun Bob Creese, who has been among those campaigning for the changes, said: “We are grateful to see them installed and let’s hope it delivers what it’s supposed to and that’s traffic calming to reduce the number of injuries and fatalities.”
Coun Creese said the ultimate aim of building a bypass still remains, although funding is currently unavailable.
“If there is any change in the financial climate we will be pushing for it,” he said.
