CHILDREN and their parents have had fun building dens in the woods.
More than 40 people took part in the fun activity which included two sessions at Bourne Wood.
It was organised by the Friends of Bourne Wood and secretary Sarah Roberts said everyone enjoyed making the dens.
This included finding a base like fallen branches, then building its structure and then covering it with things like leaves to make it waterproof.
Mrs Roberts said: “Some of them added bits to their dens, like washing lines, table and chairs and carpets once they finished building it.
“After they made them, we threw water over the dens to see if they were waterproof.
“This was a bit of fun for everybody taking part.”
The Fahidy family won the morning session and the Ramsden family were crowned the winners in the afternoon.
The Friends of Bourne Wood thanked everyone who supported the event, including the Forestry Commission.
Mrs Roberts added: “We wouldn’t be able to run this event without them.”
