HOLBEACH girl Mia Conroy hopes to win a place in this year’s national Teen Queen final.
Mia, who is 17 on April 21, made national headlines last year when she was treated by her parents to a school prom extravaganza.
She had three dresses to choose from – collectively costing more than £1,000 – stretch limo luxury, a white horse to ride on in her finery, an after-prom party at home for 200 friends and two after-prom frocks.
Now she is bidding to be the centre of attention again in the Teen Queen competition but says she needs people to rally round and vote for her – at 75 pence a time for charity – because the girls in the big cities are getting mass support.
Mia said: “Competing in the Teen Queen is exciting. If I get into the finals it will be an amazing experience.”
She would love to spend a weekend in London and take part in the Teen Queen beauty pageant on the catwalk.
Mia is studying four A-levels at Spalding High School – ICT, business studies, art and psychology.
She said: “When I leave school I intend to go to university in America and study fashion. I love fashion and intend to work in the fashion industry.”
Mia currently has 459 votes but one girl from Cambridge is leading the field with more than 3,300.
nThe 75 pence votes for Mia can be made by calling 09005 938000. Callers will be asked for two digits and Mia’s number is 19. You can also text TQ19 to 81319. No votes will count after 11.30pm on April 15.
