Police investigating the death of Tim Osborn have launched a new appeal to find a pair of glasses the 27-year-old may have been wearing at the time of the collision which killed him.

Officers returned to the scene of the crash again on Monday to carry out another search for the glasses, but so far have been unable to locate them.

Making the appeal to the public, Sgt Chris Dennett, who is leading the investigation, said: “If at all possible, please find the time to check outside your property, including your front garden if you have one and any hedges and verges.

“If you do find any glasses, lens or frames please keep them safe and dry and let us know as soon as you can, making a note of the date, time and precise place where you found them.

“Police searches are ongoing but your help is invaluable.”

Police are also still appealing for the driver of a red or burgundy 4x4 car, which may have sustained damage while parked in the Vine Street car park, behind Amici’s Italian restaurant, on the night Tim died to contact them.

The driver is not suspected of any crime but may hold vital information about the hit-and-run.
