ROTARIANS in Holbeach landed a fascinating talk about Spitfires for their recent meal.
Flt Lt Charlie Brown, of Historic Flying, gave a talk about restoring the planes at Duxford.
After 80 members had sat down to a meal at Whaplode Manor, he explained how the planes were taken from stationary displays at various RAF stations around the country and painstakingly restored by the group.
Twelve have been completed so far, with another two in progress. The presentation ended with a video of restored Spitfires taking part in an aerial display.
About £600 is expected to have been raised for the RAF Benevolent Fund and projects supported by the Rotary Club of Holbeach.
Treasurer Colin Scott was presented with a Governor’s Citation by district governor Linda May, for persuading Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland to revise its voting procedures for their annual general meetings.
