A POPULAR village playgroup may have to shut unless volunteers come forward to run it.

About ten mums and their pre-school children attend the Holbeach Hurn group at the village hall every Monday from 10am to 11.30am, but the current chairman and secretary Candy Clow has given notice that she will quit in July when her child starts school.

The group’s treasurer is also due to leave shortly, leaving the playgroup without the committee members it needs to continue.

Candy said: “It would be a shame to see the group close because it’s been going for about ten years, so we would like to get more people interested in taking over to keep it going.”

Anyone interested can contact Candy on 07738 013841.
