RIDE FOR ROBBIE: Ade Mills of Spalding with Tony Quinton of Surfleet after Ade's 115-mile bike ride from Great Yarmouth to Spalding.

The Flying Postman of Spalding is plotting his next charity adventure after raising almost £3,300 so far from his Great Yarmouth to Spalding bike ride.

Ade Mills (49), of Wygate Park, Spalding, pedalled 115 miles in memory of friends and workmates Robbie Coats and Geoff Smith, who both died of cancer in April 2009 and June 2015 respectively.

The Ride for Robbie effort, in aid of the cancer ward at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, has so far raised a total of about £10,600 since its launch in 2012 and Ade said: “I completed this year’s ride in seven hours 37 minutes, not including short stops at Cromer, Wells, Hunstanton, King’s Lynn and Sutton Bridge – where my friend Tony Quinton, of Surfleet, rode the last leg of the route with me.

“On my return, I was greeted by around 70 family and friends at the first-ever Ride for Robbie Party in Pinchbeck which helped to make the day a fantastic success.”

Next up for Ade is the Spalding Sprint Triathlon in 2018 but you can donate now by visiting http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/
