An overstretched doctors’ surgery has been put up for sale.
A sale board has gone up outside the Church Street Surgery ahead of its relocation to larger premises later this year.
“Consideration was given to additional usage by the practice,” said practice manager Grant Scott.
“But when you compare the facilities and the space at the new site, it did not really work.
“At the moment we could not justify two separate sites.”
The current surgery building, which is owned by the GP partners, is being sold through estate agents Munton & Russell and has been given a guide price of £295,000.
The intention is to relocate the surgery to what was Spalding Health Clinic in Beechfield Gardens.
A £900,000 revamp scheme was launched in October to improve health care facilities for more than 13,000 patients registered at the surgery.
Changes being made to the Beechfield Gardens site include the demolition of the front part of the existing building to make way for new accommodation and refurbishment of the ground and first floor.
A spokesman for NHS Lincolnshire, which is funding the work, said it will create a “spacious and modern” premises.
Mr Scott estimates the new surgery will be ready for staff and patients to use by autumn.
He said building work had so far only suffered a slight delay through the winter weather.
