A group of care providers working together to make services easier to access held its first public event last week.

The South West Lincs Care Consortium, comprising health and care organisations from Stamford and Bourne, was formed over the summer. On Friday members held a showcase event at Stamford Arts Centre, inviting members of the public to come along and see what services were available to them.

One of the original members of the consortium is the Evergreen Care Trust. Founder Louise Marsh said: “Some people were looking at interventions to help them stay independent. People were very surprised by what range of support services were available on their doorstep.

“We were really delighted with the amount of GPs that visited. They had some very good conversations.

“It was a brilliant session.”

The consortium is always looking for new members in the area.

Louise said: “The next step is for us to continue strengthening our referral links and establishing ourselves as a hugely valuable service for the NHS and adult social care providers.”
