Seven members of the Spalding group of LIVES are among a dozen lifesavers setting out tomorrow (Thursday) on a 102.2 mile walk from the Humber Bridge to Stamford.
The walk will take three days and every penny raised will go to LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service), which works alongside the ambulance service to send volunteer first responders and medics to a range of emergencies.
Adam Turner, from the Spalding LIVES group, said: “The Spalding LIVES group responds to over 700 emergency calls each year in our area and are dedicated to saving lives.
“Therefor if you call 999 for an ambulance in Spalding the responder or medic on call will receive notification of this and may be despatched to help you before an ambulance arrives.”
Adam is taking part in the big walk with Spalding colleagues Nigel Perry, Sandra Morgan, Ian Wright, Natalie Wright, Jack Barrett and Curtis Dorbon, and they will be joined by five members of other groups.
