A free health course is being offered to residents in Spalding who fear they may be at risk of Type 2 diabetes.
Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) health trainers are running the six-week course beginning on Friday, April 17.
Risk factors for diabetes include being overweight, having a high body mass index, having a large waist and having a close relative who suffers diabetes.
The LCVS course at unit 6, Broadgate House (behind the Job Centre), in Westlode Street, aims to enable individuals to take control of their own health.
It will include information on sugars and carbohydrates, portion sizes, food labelling, cooking, benefits of being active and other free services/events available.
The Health Trainer Service provides informal and confidential advice and support to people aged over 16.
To book your place, call health trainer Theresa Lewis on 01775 718008 or 07532 236616 or email Theresa.firstname.lastname@example.org
