Environmental health chiefs are warning parents and young people about the risk of picking up serious infections such as HIV from unlicensed body piercing.

Body piercing kits are sold on Internet auction sites leading to illegal and home piercing.

South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) says people going to unregistered providers may pick up serious infections such as HIV or hepatitis.

Registered providers in SKDC’s area include Deeping Ink at 116 Church Street, Market Deeping, and Illusions at 29 West Street, Bourne.
