History was in the air at Stonehaven Residential Home, Quadring, where Amelia Markham celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends.
The centenarian, who has two sons, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild, was honoured with cards from the Queen and Iain Duncan Smith, Work and Pensions Secretary.
Mrs Markham was born in Moulton Seas End and worked as a house sitter in Spalding, Boston and Leeds before getting married in 1940, moving to Surfleet and eventually to Quadring.
Michael Penfold, owner of Stonehaven, said: “Amelia had a lovely birthday, full of drinks, cards and flowers, and all her family came to support her.
