Girls from 1st Pinchbeck Guides proved you can get something for nothing after raising money by not saying a word for an hour.

The group kept a sponsored vow of silence at Pinchbeck Church Hall to raise money for Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

They chose the charity after one of their members was injured in a cycling accident while camping near Stamford last year.

Guide leader Jane Amess said: “We went on a bike ride during our camping trip and there was a collision where one of the girls broke her wrist.

“The Air Ambulance came so another one of our Guides, Esther Howard, decided it would be a good idea to raise some money for them by doing a sponsored silence.”
