The latest from our girl about town...
Ayscoughfee Hall Museum’s Winter Fair last weekend was a fabulous mix of crafts, Christmas songs and activities. The lady running the free children’s craft sessions deserves a medal though as apparently literally hundreds of youngsters created decorations. When Angel visited they were totally absorbed in making mini scraper board stockings and colouring in decorations. Suggests there’s a need for a weekly craft session for children in the town centre.
*Whilst out in her chariot this week, Angel experienced some considerate driving and some idiotic driving. Firstly, on Monday she was delighted to see the driver of a slow-moving digger pull to one side on the A151 to let work-bound drivers pass. Drivers of such vehicles, – especially tractors – often get criticised for just plodding along so this man deserves some applause.
However, whilst driving the same route the following morning, Angel saw a fast moving police car in her rear window and pulled over to let it roar past... only for the car behind her to pull out in the centre of the road and overtake. Someone’s obviously not using their mirrors!
*Last year Angel bought a snazzy new mobile phone and has since been very impressed with the many things it can do, even if she must confess she struggles with many of the “apps”.
However, she was slightly surprised when said mobile decided to jump forward an hour during a recent whistle-stop trip to the Canary Islands... there is no time difference this time of year!
* Holiday warning! During the same trip Angel nearly lost her suitcase when an elderly lady took it from the transfer coach. Luckily the driver retraced his route and the case was retrieved. Food for thought as it could happen to anyone.
