Keen garden club members at Long Sutton Primary School have grown the school a £500 bonus.
The school entered the national Stewart Garden Competition in 2011 when it received a generous growing kit worth £400.
Garden club members planted up the school’s newly built ten raised growing beds, harvesting and cooking the produce.
The club also had help from Long Sutton in Bloom.
Earlier this year the school sent photographs of its achievements to the competition organisers.
A judge visited in June and the school became one of nine runners up, earning garden vouchers worth £500.
School business manager Tracey Roscher said: “We were delighted to present certificates to the children who regularly take part in our gardening club in recognition of their wonderful achievement in the gardening competition.”
