At the opening of Spalding Golf Club’s trophy presentation evening, the three immediate past captain’s presented the two charity donations from funds raised during their year of office.
A total of £8,550 was raised from a variety of raffles, a bridge drive, race night, a fashion workshop, special golf days and of course the three captain’s charity golf day and was divided three ways with two thirds (£5,700) donated to the Spalding Hospice Foundation, being the nominated charity of both 2014 ladies captain Jenny Wilson and 2014 seniors captain John Patton (represented on this occasion by 2015 seniors captain Tony Holbrook).
The tulip suite holds particular significance to Jenny Wilson as it was there that husband Les was cared for so well in his final days.
The remaining one third of the fund (£2,850) was donated to the Callum Pite Smile charity which was the nominated charity of 2014 club captain Peter Bridge.
