THREE young members of 2nd Pinchbeck St Mary’s Scout Troop were under canvas in icy temperatures last weekend as their final challenge towards earning the Chief Scout Gold Award.
Acting district commissioner Sally Sneath, who presented the three boys with their certificates at the Scout Hut at Pinchbeck, said the awards were “very well deserved” and explained they had completed six challenges in total to attain the award.
These had included community, fitness, creative, global and outdoor challenges, this last one involving organising a weekend camp.
Sally said: “I don’t know what the temperature was during the night, but it was mighty cold because I had to go out with my husband. They have done an awful lot of work to achieve their award.”
