They were raising funds for The Fire Fighters Charity, which helps support serving and retired firefighters and their families.

The aim was to beat the £3,904 raised countywide last year for charity, which helps support serving and retired firefighters and their families.

Donington crew raised £436 and £260 was collected by the Spalding crew.

Local firefighter Bob Machin said: “We are really pleased how out it went.

“We took one fire engine along had seven firefighters out. They used the Holbeach water carrier and just had enough to last.

”We did have a bit of help, though. If we spotted children in the cars we invited them to hold the hose, which they loved.”
