DONINGTON in Bloom is flying the flag for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee already – with some giant floral red, white and blue displays.

The displays, including a hedgehog and Peter the Rabbit, are placed around town to complement the flower festival in St Mary’s Church.

Visitors will find the hedgehog and Peter the Rabbit in the Market Square, a globe by the Matthew Flinders statue, a pig outside the butchers and a butterfly in the churchyard.

Chairman of the committee Liz Walker said: “It’s a really busy time for us. As well as the static displays and the flower festival, we are preparing our ‘Grow Your Own’ float for Spalding Flower Parade.”
