A tiny craft club at Whaplode St Catherine is appealing for new members to join its ranks.

Known simply as The Craft Club, the nine-strong group works with Pergamano parchment to make cards, boxes and picture frames, at Monday meetings from 10am-12.30pm in the memorial hall.

Organiser Janet Dougill (70) said: “Once you start you get hooked. When I first started doing it, I was just sitting there day after day. My other passion is gardening but I’m afraid the garden got a bit neglected at the time.”

Our picture shows Eve Evans, Janet Dougill, Jackie Bailey, Rose Clark, Carol Nicholls, Dorothy Mumby and Jean Wootton.

It costs £2.50 per meeting to attend, to cover room hire costs, with an extra 50p for materials.
