Could Spalding make the Guinness book of records with the world’s biggest tulip collage?

Response to an idea to create a giant artwork using knitted tulips on canvas to be displayed as part of South Holland in Bloom is already growing. You could even say it’s meant to be, as a reader suggested it last year when we launched our Big Ideas campaign and now Jan Whitbourn, of Tulip Radio, is busy trying to make it a reality.
Jan said: “I can’t believe how it’s taken off already. I am trying to get groups and organisations like the WI, Women’s Guilds and churches to take part in this project. We will clip all the canvases together at the end, hang the whole picture from the canvases sent to us and exhibit as part of South Holland in Bloom and for other events that go on in the community.”
If you would like to take part, email admin@tulip-radio.co.uk for more details and a copy of the tulips knitting pattern. Jan (right) is pictured with Coun Angela Newton of South Holland in Bloom and some tulip artwork.
