FORMER parish councillor Geoff Wilson was recognised for his hard work for the community when he became Moulton Parish Community Citizen of the Year 2010.
Geoff received a shield – and a certificate to keep – from parish council vice chairman Coun Lawrence Wakefield at a ceremony attended by nominees and their families and friends.
Parish clerk Geoff Barham said: “It was for the amount of service to the community he’s done over the years with various organisations and charities within Moulton Seas End.
“He’s still on the village hall committee and the playing field committee and he was involved in purchasing both the hall and the field.”
Mr Wilson also organised race nights and has been involved with Moulton Park Show.
Fellow community citizen award nominees were Ian Chamberlain, for his sport and charity work, and Mary Pitcher and Stephanie Jones, who have each served 18 years with Moulton Community Association.
Mr Barham said the award was presented at a special reception before the parish council meeting.
He said: “We invited everybody along – the people who were nominated, their family and friends – and we had a few refreshments.”
