Bringing the community together and helping charity were the motivations behind pupils at Gedney Hill Primary School who have created a mini shop within a shop.

Administrator Julie Belton says the arts and crafts made by pupils at the after-school club are sold from the mini shop – which is inside McColls Shop and Post Office in the village – to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation.

She said: “It is very popular. We are having a problem keeping up with demand.”
